injured on the same day and in the same way my Grandfather was
injured - a single machine gun bullet to the head.
- Richard D. Leahy: In 2003 Gerard
Doyle contacted me. His Grandfather was also in the 165th Regiment,
Company F! "His name was Richard D. Leahy:
(aka "Dick") of the Yorkville section of Manhattan,
NYC. Legend has it he was called "Company F's favorite Tenor",
and would sing sometimes at gatherings."

contacted by Tom Tyson "My grandfather was Pvt.
John Tyson, and you reference Joe Hourigan's account of
F Company on your Web site. I still have a number of my grandfather's
effects, including his Purple Heart medal and a diary."
